Billie Harrigan Consulting provides trauma-informed, evidence-based, and scientifically sound consultations and childbirth education for parents and professionals. Billie authored the world's first accredited certification course for becoming a trauma-informed perinatal professional that drew from research from around the world to help address the global pandemic of birth-related trauma. With 35 years' experience, families are supported at every stage in the childbearing journey, helping them to process a previous traumatic birth or to prepare for a birth after a previous traumatic experience. Billie also serves as a Traditional Birth Attendant for those who are interested in an experienced mentor for their home birth. Professionals are supported in learning the skills of trauma-informed care and in understanding the causes and solutions to birth trauma in clients. Professionals will learn strategies for overcoming vicarious trauma and burnout.
